“Poachers Busted” – a lesson to be learned

Here’s a pic of the boat that was owned by the poachers that got caught with several hundred walleye over their possession limits this past spring. Notice we said “was owned.” This dandy rig was confiscated following the bust. And deservedly so….. notice the piles of fillets on top of the boat! Several phrases come to mind to describe these individuals…… none of which are fit to print here! I personally am at a loss to understand this. Who could ever make use of this much walleye?!

We’d like to again remind those that treasure the incredible resource we have in the Mississippi River that it only takes one phone call to the likes of Warden Stone to put an end to an abuse such as this. Keep your eyes peeled out there and don’t hesistate for a second to report anything out of the ordinary that you might run across while on the water.

It’s a good thing to see justice served once in a while.

Nice looking rig. Just too bad some folks have to learn the hard way. It would be interesting to see what that rig brings at auction.

Great job by the DNR! Personally, I would double my fishing license fee if it would put more enforcement on the lakes.

It was nice to see that there was an article in this sunday’s Star Tribune telling everyone of this great act that the warden did. It will give at least those that read the sports section that there is punishment for deeds of this nature. Spread the word and keep an open eye!
