Not that they were the target for me but, the White Bass were on fire this evening. 13fow on sand produced numbers of 12-13 inch fish, the tips of the wing dams held larger White Bass. I was pulling a 3-Way and started with Black/Gold floating Rapala with a few hits, as soon as (my favorite color) Blue/White was put on, slam after slam!
The fish I was targeting were the Eyes/Saugers, the 3-Way (once I found the right color) was producing short male walleyes at first. Once the sun was off the water some nice saugers started to hit. This is were things went bad for me, with anticipation and signs showing a good night bite on the way, my stern light took a crap. It was time to fire up and head back to the landing. No use taking the chance for a fine, even with a busted light in hand.
