Tooling down the river with a friend. Fishing is good but we were getting hungry. Saw some trash floating down and decided to swing over and pick it up. Our reward? Our catch? A full bag of Lay’s Potato Chips Classic, unopened. We did not release it, we ate it.
Lesson? You might be rewarded if you go 
out of your way to pick up little trash.
I have not had that kind of luck but I always like to leave the river just a bit better than I found it by picking up what may be floating by. 
Last year after the 4th of July, I picked up two full cans of Bush lite, one can of Heineken, and one Mountain Dew. While fishing the Root just below Lanesboro. It’s sure nice to have tubers on a river, a guy could go thirsty without them!
