Time to fish the river. I am from the Kansas City area and have never been on the Mississippi. Spending a week fishing starting June 1, staying in Ferryville. Would someone be so bold as to suggest where a newbie to the river should launch his 20′ boat, near Ferryville, with consideration being given to accessing the main channel. I have the Navigation charts from the Corp, and am not sure I would want to cross all of the stump fields they show near Ferryville to get to the main channel. But heck, I’m sure it’s all relative to the river level. Any inf. would be appreciated on navigating the river.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dee

Drive north to the bridge and put in at the new landing about 3/4 the way across. You will see it easily from the road. There will be 2. Its the second one heading west.
Its a nice ramp and easy access to thew main channel. If the river is still out of its banks than I suggest the Dairyland power company ramp at the top of the pool.

Thanks Jeremy. If you ever need some information about the western Missouri lakes such as Truman, let me know.
