Hi…. from what Ive heard…. 1. the high water has made the bite tougher… fish are scattered… generally they sit closer to shore and are looking for major current breaks… look for eddies and current breaks that supply the fish ways to escape the brunt of the current… Ive also had luck in “sand dune” areas where the fish are able to drop out of the current on the rough bottom… same applies for rip rap.. the rocks provide numerous small current breaks and eddies… and some very small spots will hold fish…. 2. watch for debris… you dont mention what pool your talking about… but on pool 4 Ive heard several reports of floating debris that needs to be watched for… rule of thumb.. when the river is high… keep your eye peeled for logs and dead heads… and any other large floating debris…
Rivereyes is correct!! I was out this evening and there was all sorts of [censored] floating down the river… Me and steve even saw a refirgerator float by!! No kidding! I also saw a boat that was sunk and a lot of lumber and other floating crap makes pitching shallow a bit of a chore…. since it all accumalates on the current breaks… good way to fins the breaks though if you are unsure…..look for the floating debri….
What in the Sam Hill is a re”fir”gerator? Thanks for the input buddy! Rivereyes and I will keep careful watch out there today! Well, maybe HE can watch for debris and I’ll fish my arms off! Can’t have him witnessing all my confounded rustiness!!
