Seeing as I started this thread I thought I would add my 2 cents worth one more time (I am up to 6 cents now)…
Because of the crowds, I have always preferred weekday fishing to the weekends. From my viewpoint the number of weekday boats has substantially increased this past year; weekends have always been and will continue to be busy. The high number of boats could have something to do with the absence of spring floods, good weather, high unemployment, good fishing, increased early retirements, open water, etc.
But I am also sure it has to do with the promotion of pool 4 via the Internet. I have always been a very strong proponent of the Internet since it came into existence, especially the use of it for exchanging fishing information. The Internet is here to stay and the crowds will continue to grow.
I think some of the best ideas posted in this thread have to deal with using the Internet as a positive influence on our fishing experience so that undesirable laws are not hastily implemented which would seriously degrade our fishing experience. The internet could especially help spread the word when dealing with boating safety, catch and release, on the water conduct, launching tips, environment preservation, tournament formats that reduce delayed mortality, plus other topics like these.
Things are changing, whether we like it or not, so lets try to make the best of the situation with the tools we have.
