Checking to see if there are any stripers being caught in the Red Wing area. Caught some last year that were going over 2 lbs.

You mean white bass? For some reason many people call them stripers up here (and also silver bass) but striped bass aren’t in Minnesota, only down south. White bass get up to about 4 pounds, stripers get as big as 60. I’ve also been wondering if there’s been any good white bass action lately.

Spent 4 hours on the Rum River today, Between 3 people we caught 27 fish, mostly smallmouth and a few northerns. You couldn’t keep the small bass off your line no matter what lure you had there were so many. Caught 5 or 6 bass between 12″ and 16″ my biggest was over 18.” Couldn’t find the big northerns and walleyes but still a nice day.

Yeah, we went from Hwy. 22 to Cedar Creek. The majority of this stretch is shallow and rocky and not many people fish it but there are always a few kayakers/tubers. Best thing to do is take a canoe or kayak and drift down.
