New To Minnesota…POOL question????

    Can someone please explain to me or help me to find some resources on this “POOL (Number)” and what that means or where it is please.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Pool (X) is the part of the river being held back by Lock & Dam #X. For instance, pool 9 goes from Lock & dam 8 at LaCross down to Lock & dam 9 at Harper’s Ferry. Here’s the link to the maps, since they get requested a lot:
