KEOKUK HAMILTON AREA

I’M GOING TO HAMILTON NEXT WEEK. GOING TO BE BELOW THE DAM MOST OF THE TIME WITHOUT A BOAT. ANY ADVICE ON ABOVE OR BELOW OR ANYWHERE IN THE AREA TO FISH WOULD BE GREAT. ANY ADVICE ON WHAT IS HITTING AND WHAT THEY ARE HITTING?

Wow, Keokuk–that is the farthest down the river anyone has asked about yet, so far as I have seen.

I don’t have any specific Keokuk info.–it’s a little south of “my” area. Around Muscatine, the walleye were hitting really well a few weeks ago, but that seems to have slowed down. So far, the post-spawn channel cat bite hasn’t really taken off like I would expect–could be the heat. Nearly every time I’ve been out I’ve gotten a flathead or two, even though I wasn’t fishing for them.
