Was on pool 12 for vacation last week. Didn’t get to much of a chance to fish for walleyes but did get into some pretty nice crappies in wood and deep water just down from the fertilizer plant in a little back water cut. Caught a little bit of every thing there. Stayed on 9 mile island for a couple of days nice beach. Some guys were fishing the wingdam just above there on the Iowa side with limited succes. I didn’t get much time to fish for eyes and only got 1

Remember keep your lines in the water were all in this together.

I’m glad that you had a nice vacation and glad that you found some of those crappies. I was actually on 9 mile beach this past Saturday for a couple hours. I’m not much of a beach bum but I had my 14 year-old and a couple of her girlfreinds with me. It was hot and the water felt really nice.

I often fish a closing dam on the Iowa side right at the 9 mile beach. It runs from just out from the upper point of the island into the Iowa shore. It is one of those dams that does not show up well even with a south wind but it is one of those dams that holds quite a few walleye. Great place to cast shad raps.
