FYI-Fishing on pool 2 is very good. Walleye are easy to catch with an occasional sauger. If you are using baits you will pick up some cats too.

Oh crossin, you saw how easy it was. I couldn’t believe the way the fish were biting for as hot as it was. You want the secret, bagley, firetiger, cheap at gander right now. I’m gonna be out there again on Friday night. I’ll let you know how it goes. I think I’m stick to Pool 2 next week again. It’s hard to pass up when it’s that close and I’ve caught a lot of fish each time there.

Are you fishing the upper pool or down from 494 to Gray Cloud, or even further down?

We were all fishing the upper Pool above the MN river confluence to the Ford Dam. It sounds like we will all be out tonight as well.

Lets up the fish keep biting!

Waterfowler-I never did get a final count on your Tue night fish.

That’s alright though. Everytime I mention it to a friend the number get higher.

I know, I’m breaking the law here, but it’s my lunch and I needed a quick fix before tonight. I’m guessing we boated around 20 eyes/sauger……..30 eyes/sauger…….40 eyes/sauger…….LOL!!! I can’t help it, it’s the fisherman in me!!! I’ll see you guys tonight, I should be down in that area around 6ish if all goes well!

I knew I’d get you guys attention if I said “easy to catch walleyes”.

But as you can see from Waterfowler’s numbers it’s true.

It doesn’t seem so strange when you think of pool 2 as a walleye sanctuary.

And just for clarification we’re talking about a week day evening after work outing. Not bad.

I think waterfowler should spread the wealth… If I wasn’t in the boat showing him how to catch fish, that 20 walleye number would be around 2!!! LOL!!

You didn’t show him how to use a rod did you? That “bobbing” method was the only way I knew to keep the playing field level!!! :O)

I see I’m gonna have to visit this board more often to keep danger in line. Rivereyes, where is that shock collar?? Your pup is leaving a mess in my yard again. LOL!!!! I let the guy outfish me once or twice and all he does, kick me when I’m not looking. Well, we’ll see who boats the most fish tomorrow evening. Anyone want to bet a dollar on the first fish in the boat over 17″????

sorry waterfowler!! that PUP is a handful to keep tract of!…. in fact last night he was mumbling about fishing musky in yellow lake…. I tried to stop him… tied him up real good… charged the shock collar… everything! but hes gone anyway! there is just NO stopping him!… and I know what you mean.. he is always dancing around nipping at ankles… good thing he just has little puppy teeth!.. but if you “accidently” knock some out.. well they will grow back when he gets the BIG ones… just be careful… cuz I have a feeling he just MIGHT remember!! (and when he has BIG teeth.. then *OUCH*)

    LOL…..

    Eyes, LOL!!!

I was out on Pool 2 again last night, had nubbinbuck and danger along for the ride. They didn’t seem to interested in catching fish, so I went ahead and boated several nice “eaters”. No big fish again, but several in the 15-20″ range. I can’t wait til fall when the pigs move up into this area, what a fishery only 20 mins from my doorstep.

No kidding on fly bites. My ankles are like hamburger. I’m gonna have to get some deet(sp) in the boat for nights like that.

Wednesday no great shakes. 2 of us boated 6 walleye in 3 hours-4 from 16-19″ and 2 smaller ones. Several real nice smallies, a 4lb snagged carp and some other things kept us busy. Once again though-no sauger, wierd.

You’re right Dave. No sauger is weird. Drummerboy and I boated 8 eyes and 3 pike on Tuesday, and not one sauger.

I caughts a 10lb pike on Sat-wierd too. I have caught 3 in 2 years down there, but to hear of 4 in a week-odd.

I wonder if the sauger have moved into the deeper holes. Next time I may try to get out by early afternoon and troll some 3 ways through the deeper water.
