I was on the river Wednesday and went down to Point No Point. It looked to me I could have made lake City easily by water…..lots of good spots ready to go!!

March 30, 2003 at 12:33 am #255834As of Wednesday Bay Point was still iced into the landing,,but the bay was looking like the ice could leave in a couple of days.
March 31, 2003 at 3:17 pm #262554Was out on Pepin Yesterday. I launched in Pepin and went over to the MN side to fish. There is soft ice from Lake City to Maple Springs. Four barges went through with no problems. The next big wind will take care of the remaining ice.
March 31, 2003 at 3:19 pm #262556Colville and Bay Point landings are both open. The first two barges went through the remining ice on Lake Pepin early on sunday morning so in should be ice free in a couple of days!
