How does this sound?

Several organizations have asked me if I would consider running fund raiser tourneys for them, this fall or next spring. I have always thought that a Walleye-bass-pike-catfish tourney with only one entry per category and total points added up for all categories based on place in that category would be a fun format. Teams and boater(who’s boat is used) will be picked by draw . All fish will be measured at the boat with an official measuring device supplied by tourney and a witness form will be signed by the other angler. We were considering $75 per person with 50% automatically going to fundraising group, and the rest being paid out 100%. I’m already have sources for free printing , and awards. Does this sound like an intersting format to anyone . Any comments of any kind are welcome -pro or con and suggestions would be valuable also. Lawrence

A few years ago some friends and I kicked around the idea of an “All Around” tourney. We were going to have a tourney set up for those of us that are “multi-species” fishermen. It would be walleyes on Saturday and bass on Sunday.

I think anything that supports charities will get a good response.

    I`d be interested. Beav

To me it would depend who the fundraiser was for. I would base my willingness to pay $75 on my belief in that particular organization. Outside of the entry fee amount the format sounds interesting although many people would prefer(demand) to pick there own partners. I would not go for a strange partner. I like the multi-species idea.

Sounds like fun to me. But if I have any chance to win anything, you’ll have to including sheepies.

Now that I read it again, I don`t like the “draw” either. If there are boaters without partners, then you could pair them up with someone but I beleive anyone entering as a boater should have a say as to who he wants to fish with. Face it, most guys do have fishin’ partners or at least people that they enjoy to fish with. Beav

Would it be worth the effort to enlist some sponsors, kinda like a bowlathon or walkathon, or would that keep people away? You could get people to sponsor so many dollars for each total inch of fish registered. Just a thought.
