Just a heads up…. The water temps down on P3 were up to 57 degrees in some areas and if you can locate a white bass you have a good chance of catching a bundle of them! We were pitching 5″ k-grubs on 1/8 oz heads and slautered the Whites. I am amazed every year how aggressive these fish are and how they can inhale a 5 in grub with ease I took my girlfriend with and she had a ball!! I think she also out fished me

19″ is a big guy. We had a few at 17″ last year that were just about 4 lbs. I kept trying to get one over 4 but never did. A 19 would be a possable state record up here!! Either way they all fight like madmen. Glad to here some others were able to take advantage of a great fish

NOT SURE IF WAS 19″ (REMEMBER I’M A FISHERMEN AND IT’S GROWING) I SHOULD HAVE MEASURED IT BUT THE WIND WAS BLOWING ME INTO THE SCHOOL AND HAD TO GET IT BACK IN,IT WAS DEFINITELY OVER 4LB’S

BY THE WAY I JUST LOOKED UP IN THE REGS FOR RECORD FISH WHAT BASS DO WE HAVE IN THE MISS, THE WHITE BASS OR THE HYBRID STRIPED AND HOW DO YOU TELL THEM APART ??

WE JUST CALL THEM STRIPERS OR ARE THEY THE HYBRIDS.

We olny have a few hybrids up here as far as I know. I have olny caught one myself and the olny reason I knew was because of the size. I thought I had a new state record. Whites are smaller with a taller profile like crappies. The hybrids are longer and not as tall. Hybrids also have a much larger mouth that the whites do. The one I caught was about 6-7 years ago in prescott and about 20 inches. Untill then I never thought we had them up this far. The state record white was 18.5 inches and caught at the begining of May and I bet a 18 inch fish could take it with the right food around!
If you get another big guy I would measure it and get a weight if you can. You never know I bet alot of people throw back a new record every year and never know!
