How ’bout the ‘Geriatric Open’? Brought to you by Thera-gesic.

Gently massage thin layers of the creme into and around the sore or painful area. The number of thin layers control the intensity of action:

    • One thin layer provides a mild effect
    • Two thin layers provide a strong effect
    • Three thin layers provide a very strong effect.

This could be a huge seller after boating those big walleyes and sauger all day.

I agree w/ Nate on having one person under 50 per boat. You guys might need to be refreshed on why you are out there and we may come in handy. CRS – ‘nuff said.

How about calling it the “Bald Eagle Open”??!!

All kidding aside, I think you guys have a great idea. As the ARM Tournament Chairperson, I’d love to help out here. I can assist in getting the permits if needed and help out with the weigh in.

One other suggestion. Instead of having a portion of the Entry Fee going to ARM, how about a Tax Deductible donation instead? It would help in keeping the entry fee under the $25 cap for tourneys that need a permit. Plus, each person would get a tax right off! I can provide those receipts at the time the entry/donation are paid. I can also coordinate getting a scale for weigh in.

Fist things first…..Setting a date! The PWT is in town on June 11th-14th, but the rest of the weekends in June & July look good. Are you guys leaning towards a Sunday tourney so guys can pre-fish on Saturday. Or a Saturday tourney so you guys can recover on Sunday!! Lol

    Let me know your thoughts,

    Jon J.

A $15.00 entry fee per person… with a $10.00 side donation to ARM. I like that . Sounds real good to me.
    Bald Eagle Tournament… GREAT .

I agree with some of the earlier posts, let’s keep the Geeser Open, for Geesers. the young pups do need to look forward to something in the distant future. For some it would be the way distant future and others the near distant future. then there are those (me included) that the future is NOW. ol’ Geeser and all. Some of us old Geesers may have forgotten more about fishing than we have learned in the last few years. but that’s the way it is on the OL’ MISS. Jack..

I just read this thread from top to bottom for the first time just now. Sounds like there is lots of good ideas. If the main goal of this tournament is to raise money for ARM, I would recommend a combined age of XX, whatever. I think you should allow younger people to fish so you can get more boats….just my opinion. As far as a launch site, you guys will have to decide that. I am willing to donate all the launch fees to ARM if you want to have it here. If you don’t want it here, as I understand some people will be fishing somewhere other than the dam, thats fine too. No offense taken here if you want it in coleville or somewhere else. Just let me know. If you want it here, the first 2 weekend in July are out for me, as I have to go to my own wedding and honeymoon I guess…LOL. I believe the final dates for the BB/BS weekend are the second weekend in August, so thats out. Anyway, i’ll keep following this thread and see what develops. Good Luck guys.

Ok guys, what do we want?

    Both 50 or older?
    One has to be 50?

    Sat. or Sun.?

$20.00 Entry fee plus 7.00 ramp fee [must put in at Everts] Steve donates 5.00 per ramp fee and keeps 2.00 =25.00 ?

Plaques for 1,2,3, places and rest of money for ARM.

    Fish 7:30-2:30
    2:30-3:00 Weigh In
3:00-6:00 cook out [bring own food and grill] Fish story time.

Please make your votes be heard. Thanks, Bill

Hey Steve, What do the Wisconsin laws say for entry fee and number of boats? I believe permits are easy to get in Wisconsin, correct? Thanks, Bill

Maybe Gimpy is on the right track “us young guys want to show the older guys we can fish”—So maybe we could have a old farts against the upstarts—younger generation against the older generation—-the generation GAP tourney–that way everyone can fish—-but of course them young whippersnappers with all that energy and stamina would have to spot us old farts about 10 maybe 12 pounds!!

I’ll have to dig out the tourney regs here in Wi, but I know it’s easier here in Wi than MN because of the fact there is no “limit” to number of tournaments of certain sizes in WI. I believe it’s 20 boats or over 500 payout….don’t quote me on that. I’ll have to dig up the requirements. Either way, it’s free.
