Me and a couple guys from work will be heading up to pool 9 in a couple of weeks to do some fishing and I had a couple of questions.

Are there any special regs concerning fishing in the National Reserve? I’ve never been that far north, so I don’t want to end up busting rocks at Levenworth!

Anybody got any hot ideas about where to fish? We will be staying in Lansing and were looking at heading up to Big Lake or DeSoto bay. Let me know if this is a waste of time.

Personally, I would just as soon get into a batch of big ‘gills, crappies, or white bass. The guys I’m going with are pretty serious walleye & pike fishermen, so we’ll just see what happens.

I was on pool 9 Sunday and the walleyes are pretty spotty but can be found & caught with some work. Jiggin and riggin nightcrawlers worked best for me. Did catch a few on leeches though. If your looking for panfish…I caught some big bluegils above and below the wingdamns while fishing for walleyes. Also got bit off by a couple nice pike at the boat. Desota Bay might not be a bad start, but alot can change in 2 weeks. Good luck
