I am also wondering if anyone has been near the Belvidere landing on Pool 5 and if it is open the upper section of the river is fishable. I think am heading that way no matter what.
    Thanks,

I was out last night. The only place to put in is Bevidere right now. Some nice fish have been coming off pool 5 right now. The little fish are gone. IF you get a bite it is nice. My buddy was out yesterday also and boated 3 walleyes over 24″. Just a warning. It took me about 35 minutes to get up river. There was so much ice floating that I neve could get it up on plane. I will be heading down to look at that situation in a couple minutes I will check to see if there is still an over abundance coming down.

What’s puttin fish in the boat on pool 5? Morning or evening? What kind of quantity can one expect for a day’s worth of fishing? Thanks in advance.

The river is good to go. Yesterday they must of moved rollers so that the ice from up above could be let go. What is working? Yesterday we only got an hour to fish because of all the ice. Vertical jigging was working for us. Jigging with hair jigs and Super doo in the other hand. Right off the bat lost nice fish on Super doo. Never saw it. Holding it still of the bottom about 1′. Look for warmer water. Some places you can graph 34 degrees and other place 39 degrees. Buddy took the 24″ in 32′ of water and in about 38 degrees. Morning and late are best. We have been off river at dusk. This is one we got before dark set on. Not much for quantity but all quality. I hope that helps.

That definitely helps – thanks. Have you had any luck in the shallows – shand flats?
