That’s a great article, Dino. Do you believe that
James has ever worked 18 hours a day? LOL
After seeing some of his posts that are done in the wee hours of the morning , he probably works even longer. LOL

I’d just like to say a big Thank You! to James for keeping FTR/FTL up and running. Makes winter days like today a lot easier to handle!
Jon J.
Thanks James, and all those who make the two sites an awsome place to share our love of fishing.
Well I do appreciate the sentiment guys, but the thanks need to go out to a group of dedicated individuals that all chip in to keep this site running. Dave Koonce and Jon Jordan, to name just a couple, donate LOTS of time by offering to help visitors navigate the site, learn the ins-and-outs of the many features we have here as well as constantly offering to crop, re-size, adjust and then post photos for anyone and everyone that needs a hand. These two guys, and the others that contribute as they do, deserve the kudos from the rest of us. Without them this site would neither be possible or, to be honest, much fun to do. It’s the collective effort that make it feel like the “family business” that keeps me in it for the long haul. Websites like this one don’t make money, not even close, but the atmosphere around here, the friendships and the comraderie make every effort and dollar invested worthwhile.
And yes Wayne, you stinker you, 18 hours… most EVERY day!
A Big Round of Applause for all that Contribute to this Web Sight. This is the only Fishing sight on the Internet that has kept my interest for more than 3 months. Great Articles! You ask a question and in a matter of minutes you have at least one answer, if not several. You can Hook-up with someone to go fishing with for a day. Many Guides and experienced fisherman to help out. I don’t see Al Linder doing these things. Lets face it! This is THE most informative place I have ever been to on the Internet. It’s like Family here. Keep it up everyone……GREAT JOB!!!
Could not get he link to the paper to come up at the moment, will try again soon.. Thanks to all the FTR/FTL members and staff that make this site the great site that it is. Jack..
Only one serious error:

Sometimes, that community leaves cyberspace and meets in the real world. Anglers arrange outings online, then meet at a specific lake to fish together on a weekend.
Lake??? Lake???
We don’t need no stinking lake!
I worked the Boat and Marine Products Show at River Centre for 61 Marine and Sports over the weekend, and saw a number of the FTR faithful. It was GREAT! I was helping a couple with a boat purchase, when we started talking about FTR, and my affiliation with the group. They said, “Oh yeah, we read about you guys in the Sunday Paper today! I gave it the old, HUH? I went and grabbed it, and there it was, bigger than life! Pretty cool!
I love this place.

I think the thing that sets this site so far above some of the other “popular” sites is the information exchanged. The fact that this isn’t a “high school chat room,” is what attracts me. The quality of the site, and its participants are what makes me visit frequently. I am motivated to be the leader in Pool 13 contributions this year, and many to come. Actually, there aren’t that many so that might not be that difficult. Perhaps if I add the quality and quantity, others will follow. We’ll see.
I certainly agree that internet sites in general provide more up to date info than any published format….. newspapers only update fishing reports weekly (or is that weakly? if ya know what I mean!)…. and magazines… well they are articles only… and while I enjoy reading them, when compared to what we have here on FTR they are of only minimal value…. for instance if I read something in a magazine article and I wish to discuss something with the auther of that article… how can I? what if I want more opinions on what is said in the article? here on this site we are soooo lucky…… many times we get articles and fishing information in the same post… if something new is working we find out about it right away….. we can as people for more information….. we can post our own opinions…. the adavantages are obvious and many…. I think the magazine will survive for a while… but only because we cant take the computer with us everywhere….
Sorry about that “dig” James! The door was open.
I know how hard you work and appreciate it!
It hasn’t hurt us any by reading your reports!
My thanks go out to James, EC, Jon AND everyone who posts on these sites. I’ve learned more in the past 3 years from this site than I had in the previous 40 years of trial and error! I still have much much more to learn, and maybe can help others from time to time. Keeps me coming back!
Jeff, I’ll be watching for your pool 13 posts. I am a pool 14 regular, but have expanded my horizons to 13 more in the last couple years. I’ll be doing my best to keep pace with you on pool 14 news!
