Does anyone know if there are special disposal conditions for the one pound propane containers used for lanterns, heaters, etc? I have a bunch of these to throw out but I don’t want to get into trouble putting them where I’m not supposed to.

Great question. I was told at the local recycling center to just put them in the trash. I wish that there was a safe way to reuse them. I only use them for my lantern now. For my heater, I picked up a hose with the propor connections from Fleet Farm that allows me to connect to the bigger propane tank, the one that I can trade in. I still end up throwing away 5 or 6 of those little cans away each year. Guess that I will have to go back to the old colman fuel lanterns. Just wish that they wouldn’t stink up the tent so bad.

you probably can’t mail them as they just about always leak a little bit, but you guys could always meet on the river some where for some fishing and propane bottle exchange. Jack.
