Good question Rigger? I’m from Northern IL. and have never gone south to the Spring Valley area, I’m always up north on the Mississippi. Any fishing info on the Illinois?

Log on prairielandeyes.com, good info center with contact names. March and October can be as good as can be anywhere for large sauger. SpringValley Il. is a very good area.

Well if you want the chance of catching a monster sauger, the Illinois is the river to fish. I have fished the Illinois from Starved Rock down to Spring Valley. There is some great fishing there. The last time I was out I caught a 4.75 sauger. If you have any questions, just p.m. me or e=mail me. You can also go the the Illinois River Forum…….Tight lines and Good Health to all……..Tony

As soon as that darn ice is gone,I will be out there.Awsome sauger fishery. It can be a tough river to fish when it is low and the barges are on the move, when when things are right its a blast. The holes get a little bumper boaty on weekends,I dont deal with that,I go else where down river. John Mannerino
