FTR Fantasy Football league?

I think FTR people are too unique to be “joiners” in such trendy things like fantasy football…………….I think they like things new and original………….so I propose we start an FTR Fantasy Goofball League! Here are the players to draft:

Only 11 players can be selected for your team and these are the position catagories and respective point values:

1. Starts a new thread – 3pts

2. Last post on a thread – 1pt.

3. First response to a new thread – 2pts.

4. Most water time – 1pt.

5. Biggest fish CPR’d – 2pts.

6. Suffered a hook injury – 1pt.

7. Offered personal help/presence – 3pts.

8. Funniest post – 1pt.

9. Most respondant thread – 3pts. (only one post per user counted)

10. Best response posted – 2pts.

11. Thanks someone – 3pts.

Each Monday, votes for all voting/nominee catagories will be forwarded in private to the organizer. All catagories are judged/tallied on a weekly basis, from Monday morning to Sunday night. Only publicly viewable posts will qualify for any considerations. Contest will begin on Labor Day and run through New Years Eve. All team selections must be named and submitted before Aug. 31, 2001. An awards party will be thrown at the end of the season and awards of recognition will be distributed. Good luck folks and let’s have some fun amongst our favorite website!

Sin me up. I’ve played the internet fantasy too. It’s pretty easy. CBS Sportsline has a good one and Yahoo! isn’t too bad either.

Hey Pup, how come I was left off the draft list. I’m the goofiest Goofball player that ever was.

why was I left off the list? According to people who know I’m completely insane to be able to fish 5-6 days a week for 8-10 hours in any weather ,at any time ,and anywhere theres walleyes/suagie doggies swimming.Maybe its because I dont spend enough time in front of a computer writing about fishing when I can be out doing it? Put me on the bench warmer team(scrubs)!!FISH ON!!!

i always thought it would be fun to do a FTR Survivor. Each week everyone posts the biggest fish they caught for the last 7 days, the person with the biggest fish (regardless of species) wins immunity for that council. Then everyone votes for who they want booted off the message board (or eliminated from the contest) based on their catch. The contest continues on like this until only 3 people are left, time for a 2 day fishing contest on the river- highest total weight of fish caught takes home the prize! I can see those “eyes” rolling now.

Well Gee guys! If you want to be on the list, you CAN be on list! I stated how I made up the list of 25 draftees but Leo Kam, Croix River Rat, you can come in as late entries to training camp! LOL! Thing is, you can only pick 11 guys no matter who’s on the “player list”. A successful draft needs both water dwellers and board mongers for a really strong team. If anyone else would like to be added as a “goofball draftee”, just speak up. There’s a month to go before team submissions have to be in. :O) I also would like to openly apologize in advance to anyone offended by not being included on the “goofball list”.

Funny idea! I think I’d have to steer clear of that one though! I wouldn’t make it past the first week! LOL!

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that a Carp Chaser would want to have a weekly “big fish, any category” contest. That would be incentive for all of us to start chasing carp!

all this response is great…. and the PUP sure has an inventive mind! dont he?…….. I have 4 “:teams”: so far… am I going to have to “draft” some teams to complete a field for a FFL leauge? dont be shy! this will be fun and easy… even if your in another league… give this a try… it takes very little time…. Exit42 at Fanball.com is easy, it will even set up an email draft, it even sugests players for you… and it will even select what it thinks to be the best postion player for your team… in fact autodrafted teams can be pretty good… one league I was in last year was won by an autodrafted team…..

if it comes down to it.. I will take all the guys I get and autodraft the rest…. exit 42 can even pick out starting lineups so its a pretty good owner too!

anyway…… Im going fishing TOMMORROW!!! *YAH!!!*…..

well…. of course since you no doubt were the 2nd person to register that means your in MY division…. Moooohahaha….. the snot slickens…. errrr…. plot thickens…..

so now what do you do? you sit back and wait for the PUP whuppings to begin!!….

Ok… well.. seriously… as the commish its my responsibility to build the draft, then we set up a date/time for it to start…. I will set it up as an email draft, I will tell you guys how to set up your draft sheets so that when your selection comes it will pick the highest player available off your list… (otherwise you will have to “guess” when your turn will be, login and make the choice yourself!… I would NOT suggest that… the “draft sheet” works great and makes things SOOOOO easy…..

soooooo when should we start? we DO have some time.. it will take some time to complete the draft.. I would say at the latest we should start 10 days before the season starts… so that would be late august… right around the get together time… do you guys want to have the draft complete in time for the get together? so that some up close and personal ribbing can take place??

I think the ribbing will come without this FFL!!! Anyway, I just talked to a FFL SuperBowl winner from last season and he suggested that I not draft until a week before the season starts at the EARLIEST! Reason is possible cuts and injuries. I don’t want to draft a guy who doesn’t make the team or got a season ending injury in the preseason. I’m thinking you wouldn’t care to either, ay there River Liver? :O)

well you are correct, with a conventional draft where we all meet face to face the draft takes about 3-4 hours and you do that draft the week before the season starts…..

I did a fanball draft last year and it takes a while… the fastest you can set response is on hour per pick… so I think your talking 130 hours to complete our draft….

thats why the draft cards are so *kewl*….. the draft picks your best choice and goes onward…. it will acutally progress fast if EVERYONE used the draft card… otherwise it will wait the full hour then pick a player for you……
