To the vast anonymous ranks…..

Hey all of your anonymous out there!…

this is getting crazy.. I just looked and there were 4 registered and 26 anonymous logged in!!…..

Id love to know why you guys dont register and join the fun…. cuz heres the deal…. maybe you dont figure you have anything to say… or maybe you dont want anyone to know who you are…. or maybe your secretive and dont want to talk about what you do… but guess what? your only hurting yourselves… because what you read on the board is really only the tip of the iceberg and you people are missing out on some of the best parts…. you see all the registered people that are posting? well once you get on the board you can be PMing them and they may be doing the same to you.. (thats Private Mail)… theres lots of stuff going on in the “back channel”… that you are being left out on.. Im not saying that things are hidden… but….. just as you might expect not everything is revealed either…. heck if nothing else.. register.. and PM ME!!.. Ill write ya back… it will get ya started….. now everyone whos ever tried it will probably tell you Im a bit of a goofball… but thats usually good for a laugh or two…… so just pickout a name…. or do I need to make a list of possible names and you gus can pick from em? One of my buddies always said he couldnt come up with a “good screen name”.. awwww come on!! my screen name is RiverEyes.. whats so good about that?.. oh yeah… I guess maybe that was his point… but still…. you can pick anything thats not been chosen…… for sure you are going to make some new fishing buddies… count on it!.. its hard NOT to… I doubt a weekend goes by that I dont have 2-3 offers to go fishing!… and thats not counting oppurtunities during the week….

now dont be thinking I get commission for this or anything… but in a WAY I do.. cuz when you guys signup.. then I might get to know some new people, new friends, new fishing buddies…. and thats what its all about…… THATS what YOUR missing!… so give it a try!! and drop me a line!!

Ohhh.. and guess what.. if your registered… no one has to know who you really are… and you dont HAVE to say anything.. and no one is going to make fun of you… so whats the worst thing that can happen?? I cant think of ANYTHING…. but the best? I can think of lots… honestly I cant see how you can lose on a deal like this!!

Once again Im sitting here looking at 3 registered and 26 anonymous!…. I suppose I should not be suprised that no one took my invitation to register and drop me a note…. I probably sound like quite a goofball…. and I certainly can come off that way…. but… Im not the ONLY FTR guy you could make an aquaintance with!!!… Really!!
As I thought about all Ive learned through FTR that I would not have known had I just sat outside and only read posts I felt even stronger that you guys should sign up too…
maybe your all pros.. and you all have all the contacts you will ever need… but how do you know that things cant get even better?
and if your not all pros… for sure things will get better and better… I guarantee it…
to be sure.. Im kind of suprised that some of our other FTR regulars did not jump in with their 2 cents worth too….. but maybe this is my crusade and they dont want to steal any thunder….. but… come on guys… help me out here!!! come forward and let them know you are better off as a member!!!

I wonder if some of those anonymous reading are not a little miss leading. I checked in late one night with out logging on, went through about a half dozen posts before I checked to see who was on line. It looked like every time I switched posts it registered as a anonymous. Might want to double check this to see if is correct.
But yes. Get registered people. Lots of good stuff coming off this site. Great way to increase that fish input into your boat. Great place to learn about new places to fish. Just look at those pic. rivereyes has put on line lately. I have had my boat there. Cant beat it.

Mike it seems like you may be right!.. I got a message from another of our registered that was perusing as anonymous because being logged off by the system… and he seems to think he gets better performance as anonymous….. something I have no idea on… still… I cant imagine we have that many registered out there logged on as anonymous!?…
but Im sure there are some……

And there are performance problems with this site. I always access via cable and there are times I give up trying to navigate….it is either too slow and the page doesn’t post before the timeout or I get tired of stopping and resubmitting. I do not have this problem with any other site thatI frequent….FWIW.

James asked a while ago if people were having these problems. They are a recent occurrance-but it does happen to me too. I recommend starting a post to bring this back to James and Steve’s attention. I assume they are still working on a solution-but it is possible that they are unaware that the problem is still ongoing.

James is aware of it. He is out til the 28th. There will be some big changes coming soon. Things everyone will love! He just needs to get his new web guy in place, and get his feet wet. Stay tuned…

All right… looks like some of you are off the hook on the anonymous issue!.. but we have uncovered some performance issues that are going to be addressed as soon as possible… so hopefully before too long things will be even better than before…. just hang in there!

Hey Rivereyes, is this the “appropriate” place to talk about your “performance” issues? Maybe Bob Dole or Rafael Palmero can help.

Whoa………………better jump in here before Dave B gets the goofball rolling. And like most balls, without something to stop him, he’s likely to keep going, and going, and going, and going…………… Maybe if I set up camp as a bumper we can get a little FTR Pinball going with the action starved media man! I’ll fling ‘im over to you Dave and you can bounce him off to ecnook and then off to leinieman……………and on and on……..until he’s so confused he’ll think forget about the anonymous registraints!

On a more helpful note, for those not too keen on being “one of the bunch”, Rivereyes makes an excellent point about the private messaging capability. Think of it this way…………..when a magazine or company spouts off about a new product or technique, do you want to take their word for it or get the scoop from everyday “joes” like yourselves? Tank tested? Location specific? Pro tested? Are those the things YOU practice when it comes to fishing? Get the most reliable, practical, useable, and up to the minute, current information available and get involved! People don’t always tell the world but they might tell someone who’s become a friend! Can a magazine give you up to the minute coverage or answers on your specific questions? How many issues will you have to finger through to find the subject, an answer, and how out-dated will the info be by the time you get a chance to read up on it and apply it?

Sure, there’s other web sites. But how many of them are actually INVITING you to come be a part of the team? All of us is WAYYYYY better than one of us and teams always win! You want to be on a winning team? Join it! You can sit on the bench as an NFL player and still get a Super Bowl ring! But only if you join the team! You must JOIN the team to get all the benefits of a team. I challenge you to seek out the person that regrets their registration and association. It won’t be easy!

There’s no such thing as a dumb question, but dumb decisions are out in full force. How many times can we all reflect on ourselves and wished we’d mustered up the courage to ask a simple question? Don’t give up on yourself before you can give up on us! JOIN THE TEAM!!!!

SHHHHHHHHHHH! It was all a PLOY to get the anonymousous to register. But don’t tell anybody. If you don’t know what IT is by now, you never will.

If you don’t join you can’t post. If you can’t post you can’t swap a trip. You can meet some great people that are a lot of fun to fish with or maybe have a cold one and shoot the bull. Next new name thats of legal age gets a cold one. Steve

Hey, let’s get back to the comment made a few posts back. “New web guy”….where’s Hougie? Has he moved on? Has he been replaced? He built this thing and now he’s gone?
Where did he go and why is there a new web guy?
It’s odd that there aren’t any posts from him anymore. Is he alright?

Recently logging on has been difficult, and the site doesn’t work on Netscape anymore, at least on my computer.
It has worked in the past, but not now.

Hougie is around… if you read Beavers post he was out fishing with him the other day…..
however, he no longer is doing the tech stuff on EFN……

I’ve enjoyed reading your posts, and most other posts, on this site for quite a while. Your call to action got me to register. I was on the river Saturday for the first time in my new boat, what a great day although I would have liked more fish in the boat. Still and yet, it was very worthwhile and I look forward to many more days on the old Miss. I love fishing and that’s why I was out, but some of the things you see on the river, well, they just sorta transport you back 20-50-even 100 years ago. Maybe that’s just my mindset?
Anyway, your post got at least one long time anonymous reader to sign up for real.

hey Big Northern… its been a long time since Ive been able to welcome a new comer to the board… so let me say.. Glad to have you aboard!!!…. Im sure you will find that as a memeber you will have even more fun… its great to be on the river and be seeing other FTR people…. its a great community of great people….. in fact Im going to be down on pool 4 tommorrow out of Everts… so maybe I will see some more of our FTR people…
and actually Im going out fishing with Nate Cadwell…. a fellow FTRer….. should be a good time!
so tommorrow sometime I should have a report for everyone.. and some pix too…..

I see Beav’s articles on another web site, walleyesfirst.com, I also see Hougie posting on that site too, Hutch is gone too, I wonder why?
