    Hi guys,

Been away with massive computer problems. Looks like everything is going ok. I’ll be stopping in from time to time now.

My 3 year old son got his first fish this year and it happened to be a walleye!!!! All 32 inches of it!!!

If you guys are interested in checking it out I can post the picture!!

    Anyways, GREAT TO BE BACK!!!!!!!!!

Here it is! We were fishing for smallies. He just kept reeling in his jig and worm and dropping it to the bottom and reeling it back up. Just repeated the process. Then the rod just doubled over! My house is the next house to the right of the dock in the pic.!!!

I had one heck of a year fishing.

I don’t know how many walleye I have caught over 30 inches. It was a year of pigs.

I also caught the biggest fresh water fish of my life! Do you guys have sturgeon in the big M?

we DO have sturgeon… but they get bigger in the croix then in the miss….. I dont think there are many lake sturgeon in the miss… but quite a few of the small shovelnose….. in the croix there is mostly lake sturgeon… every year I determine myself to fish for them… and every year I dont find the time… another year wasted this year!!

You gotta get out and try it Rivereyes. The one I got took 40 minutes on 24 pound fusion line with a large spinning reel with a 9 1/2 foot rod. It was jumping all over the place. Great fight.

    Sore back and arms to!

I caught a sturgeon that was 48″ with James a couple springs back. We were fishing in the Hay creek area. I shouldn’t say I caught, it caught my jig. I can’t imagine catching those prehistoric monsters out west….. Let’s see that picture.

We get at least one sturgeon per year ice fishing on the Croix in Prescott, and jigging in early Spring. When you set the hook, you begin an experience you won’t soon forget!

Great looking fish! The memories will last a lifetime for you both!

That is a nice Walleye. I’ve posted three photos on the Wisconsin Rivers Forum of Sturgeons. Three friends caught these on the Chippewa River. Check out the post Chippewa River Giants the one with two reply’s has all three photo’s. I messed up something on my first try. If these monsters can live in the Chippewa there might be some huge ones in the Mississippi. Steve

    Hello Mr. Willowcat,

Yes I have fished Kashabowie. I used to have my camper on that lake for five years in a row!

I think I still have a map of it around here somewhere.

    Do you fish that lake?

hey….. we have been going to koshabowie for the last couple of yrs… its a allright lake i guess,,, the day bite is real slow but theres alot of quality,,,, the night bite is where it is at,,,,i think the day bite is so slow cause the lake is so clear and deep,,where do u ussualy fish on it,, its so darn big,, we catch most of our fish up by tom schmudes house,, the guy with the plane, this spring we ventured to lac mil lac,, thats not how u spell it im sure,,,, but its just north,,, the fishing up there is out of this world,, we were catching 40 eyes an hr in about 1-3 feet of water,, the water is a copper color and they bit all day long,,, i cought 2 27 inchers in like 2 hrs of fishing,,,
