I spent 9 hours on the pool 4 today, all morning it rained….I fished. It cleared, I fished……I moved……I jigged…..I used plastics, minnows, crawlers, and everything considered to be crankbaits, stick baits……….I give up, someone please tell me where the fish are????

On Pool 2 I was out with Dave Koonce on Saturday. We fished the upper part of Pool 2 by the confluence and the wing dams by the St Paul Airport and had a very good day. Yep! It rained and then it cleared. I used Shad Raps (Firetiger) and Dave and his Nephews used Jointed Shad Raps, Willow spoons and he was also Handlining. Dave will post a report on Pool 2 shortly. You can’t take home the fish on Pool 2 but, they do seem to be there for some CPR and a lot of fun.

I Forgot If you go to Pool 4 launch from Evert’s and talk to Steve before you hit the river. Many people here fish out of Evert’s and Steve has recent information on where the fish are hitting.

Well, the same here although we did manage two nice fish, one Sat. evening across from Everets about 5lbs. and one early this morning 19″. That one in Cookies cut. That was my fishing partner. I caught one fish all weekend…..13″!!! I do think the fish are there. You just have to hit them at the right time and with the right bait and approach. Too bad I don’t know what they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JLK

We’ve been this way all summer above L/D 10, my partner and I have 2 fish in the last 6 wks. The water is up, then the water is down, worst summer for eyes in a long time. Great smallies, stripers. When they decide to turn on – fishing should be great. We did manage about 20lbs of eel grass on sat.(not bad with fresh tomatoes & Greek seasoning)

You’re not alone Joe. Legal fish are hard to come by for a lot of people including myself.

    It’s gonna change quickly though…

Send me a PM if you’re going down again soon.
