Driving 494 this morning over the Minnesota river, it looks like she dropped about 2ft, if not more.

    Did they open the gates???

It is definetly dropping. I go over the 35E bridge all the time and you can now see shoreline again and the trees are out of the water by quite a bit. Methinks I will have to get out there next week. This weekend I’ll be trying to get out on Reno, Minnewaska, and Emily. If I’m lucky all three!

YES ITS DROPPING LIKE A ROCK IT HAS DROPPED 1 1/2 FEET IN THE LAST 2 DAYS AND AS FAR AS THE BOAT RAMPS GO I’M SOORY BUT I JUST USE WATERGATE WE HAVE A SEASON PASS AND I ALWAYS GET THE MOST OUT OF IT LASR YEAR I MUST OF FISHED THE RIVER 150 DAYS AND AT 10 TO 15 BUCKS A LANCH THE 225.00 WE PAY IS WORTH IT BESIDES THE CITY RAMPS SUCK. YOU HAVE TO BE OFF THE RIVER AT SUN DOWN AND ON THE WEEKENDS WHO TO SAY WHEN THEY OPEN THE GATES TO USE THEM ANY WAYS. AT WATERGATE YOU CAN BE OUT AS LATE AS YOU WANT OR FISH AS EARLY AS YOU WANT. AS FAR AS THE RIVER DROPPING ITS THE MINNESOTA RIVER THAT DROPPING AND THATS HOLDS BACK THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER UP RIVER FROM IT. IN CASE ANY BODY CARE MINNHAHA CREEK SHOULD BE GREAT FOR WALLEYES AND SMALLIES IN THE UP AND COMING DAY BECAUCE TONKA IS SO HIGH ITS FLOWING OUT OUT GRAYS BAY INTO THE CREEK AT A PRETTY HIGH FLOW RATE. SO JUST GO TO MINNHAHA PARK AND WALK DOWN THE 132 HUNDRED STEPS WITH YOUR LITE WEIGHT WADDER AND SOME CRANK BAITS GO TO THE MOUTH AND CAST SLIGHTLY DOWN STREAM AND HAVE A GOOD TIME YOU CAN CALL ME AT 612-382-0269 FOR DIRECTIONS WOODIE

Too bad the river will be taken over by maniacs this weekend. The bite would have been great.

the bit has been great before the water fell. Just to let you guys know that Lilydale road off 13 near 35E will be closed June 29-July 7 or the July 9 can’t remember only for a mile or so. Thats what they had posted on the signs. Good luck.

Yes they have the road closed signs up but i was still able to get to the ramp today.
Yes the water has dropped and it seems the good fishing has dropped right off with it. So much for expecting a few 5# to 8# fish every time out. Spent 6 hours today looking for bigger fish and ended up with 4 between 15 and 21″. Come back high water. The fish i did find today where all from new areas again. All my high water spots have seemed to dwindled away. Back at it in the morning looking for new fish.
