Campin on the sandbars

The wife and I and my son camped out on the river Sat night. It was a great time. Fishing was good but catching was horrible. But the weather was great to watch the sunset and sit by the campfire. Its getting harder and harder to find decent sandbars to camp on. They need to allow dredging again and build them back up.

Be happy you were able to just pull up on a sand bar and camp and spend the day. If the government gets there way soon you will have to reserve a spot to camp on much the the bwca. I grew up on the river and spent many nights on the sand bars with friends I hope they will never get it passed because it would be a big hassle to have to reserve sand bars.
