River is high, dirty and fast down here on pool 6.I am thinking of heading to Pepin on tuesday. I fish the lower lake area from lake city to reads landing. Are the white bass,or walleyes biting on the lower lake?

i was fishing around camp lacapolis(spl) last thursday. got there early around 6:00 am and the stripers where going crazy. the hot item seemed to be using split chartuses jigs. we nailed them with these, sometimes two on at a time on the same pole. but by 8:00 they pretty much stopped feeding so we went after some walleye, . that didn’t work so hot, didn’t catch a single one in 1 1/2 hrs so we booted. didn’t see anyone else catch any either. i don’t no how all the rain effected them but you should be able to catch white bass anywhere you see seagulls going crazy.

Thanks for the report. Anyone else want to share how you did this past week on fishing? Please feel free to post how you did. Thanks, Bill

    jake,

Just curious if you guys tried fishing under the white bass. I have been having lots of luck finding walleye under the white bass frenzy. The walleyes just sit there waiting for a free meal.

nope, didn’t try that at all. we were just fishing right under the surface and it was working so we didn’t try anything else.
