Hey guys I just want to acknowledge the fact that we have a new member here on IDA. He is a friend of mine and we do a lot of fishing together. He really looks forward to you guys giving him some respect on this site, and i know you all will. He’s a great fisherman, and i might add that we are quite evenly matched! Anyways, today we fished together and didnt do much, we were first looking for white bass, but couldnt really find them. We found a spot on a nice point and we saw some poppin so i threw out a popper. I had one nice hit that i missed before i switched to a crankbait. i through out and bam, got him. But i was surprised to find that it was a smallie, about 13 inches. We puttered around a bit with no specific luck to mention until we were coming back towards the campground. I said: Hey! go in there that looks good! as i pointed to a nice bay with pads and submerged weeds. One of my first casts, i caught a little smallie, about 6 inches . But after a few more casts by Casey, i watched a huge swirl and watched as he set the hook. He was mad, because he missed it and you could tell that it was big because it kicked mud everywhere! Well, sure enough, he casted a few times, and i watched as a big brownish tail flipped out of the water and casey set the hook once again. We boated this fish, barely because it hardly fit in the net but it turned out to be a big fat northern, 34 inches and easily 10#! great to see someone get a northern this year seein’ how i havent seen any nice ones yet!
anyway, thanks for givin casey your time, and i know that he will have lots more reports for you guys in the near future. Go ahead: Give him some applause!
Thanks!
