SO NOW THERE IS THIS THING CALLED WEST NILE VIRUS THAT IS CARRIED BY THOSE LOVING SKEETERS THAT WE ALL LOVE! IT’S BEEN FOUND CLOSE TO ALL OF US HERE IN THE MIDWEST! 2 CASES FOUND HERE IN IOWA JUST LAST WEEK! WHILE THIS DISEASE CARRYS NO HIGH RISK THREAT “THEY SAY”! (MEDIA) YET A GUY IN LOUISIANA DIED LAST WEEK BECAUSE OF THIS! NOW I KNOW EACH OF US HAS BEEN BITTEN BYE A SKEETER AT SOMETIME. MOST OF US PROBABLE WITHIN THE LAST MONTH ! SO I ASK YOU HOW LONG BEFORE SOMEONE AROUND HERE IS INFECTED? WE ALL SPEND ALOT OF TIME AROUND WATER! WHILE I DON’T FEEL THIS WILL HAMPER MY FISHING PLANS THE REST OF THE YEAR I DO HOPE I’M NOT THE NEXT VICTIM OF A SKEETER! BETWEEN THE ZEBS CUTTING MY LINE AND THE BIG HEADED CARP AIMING FOR MY HEAD I CANT WAIT FOR A B52 SKEETER TO END MY DAY ON THE WATER! I THINK I WILL BUY STOCK IN THE (OFF ) COMPANY OR (DEET)!

    SEE YOU ON THE WATER!

I heard 5 dead in Louisiana, and many animals…Deadly skeeters, flying carp, snakehead fish, zebra mussels, chronic wasting…We are not long from the hourdes of locusts, etc…
It’s getting pretty scary out there!

I think it’s possible this west nile thing is being a little blown out of proportion. I don’t have any stats on hand but imagine how many people die each year of the plain old flu. I don’t think any of us healthy enough to man our boats in the big rivers have a lot to fear even if we did get this thing.
    Just my “ignant” opinion.

I’ve heard that it effects mostly the very old, and the young, & those whose immune systems are not very good. I also heard that once you get it, you can’t get it again. It looks like it’s here to stay, Since I’m in my mid forties, maybe I should get it and be done with it. “John”
