Stupid question — educate me please — rip rap

I sorry to ask this and I hope this doesn’t sound too stupid but could some one explain what a rip rap shore line is and or possible give me an example of an area in Pool 4.

Rip Rap is the shorelines with large rocks along them, a good example on pool 4 would be just about anywhere around Lake Pepin. Specifically, the shore south of Maiden Rock along the Railroad tracks.

Northeastern
It is important to find something else with rip-rap. Because there are miles and miles of rip-rap along the Mississippi. I try to find rip-rap with points, or other features that set it apart from the other stuff.
