Finally got the boat out of storage on Saturday. I was wondering whats happening down by everts and the dam. Is the landing open down there still? Also what has been biting? Spring break next week so I plan on going down at least twice. Any info would be greatly appreciated. JD

Always nice to get the boat back on the water! Evert’s ramps are open as well as the 63 bridge landing. Fish are being taken in a lot of different areas on many different techniques. My brother and I avoided the crowds at the dam last time out and ventured downstream from Evert’s I can tell you there are fish to be caught other than the dam! We got most of our fish pitching hair jigs (With and without meat) to slack water areas in the 6-10 foot range.

If you are on the water Saturday afternoon around 3PM, stop over at Evert’s Resort to watch the weigh in for the In-Depth Angling Walleye Tourney. You may be able to pick up a few pointers then.

    Good Luck!

    JD,

coming down in a week or two, will prob be very good timing. a couple of days ago, saw the vermilon river finally putting some dirty water flow into the main channel. as the flow rate increases, water levels going up more, and reduced water visibility from the clear state now ARE all pluses. Launch at Evert’s, Steve can answer any of your questions and clue you into areas that are producing fish. his ramps are perfect shape, and he has all the plastics that you hear about on the site. good luck and keep us posted on your trip. Jack..
