Whats with all the pop up ads. I am getting them each time I move from page to page in FTR and FTL tonight? Was wondering if anyone else is getting the same thing.

If you are talking about the ads at the very top like Everts Resort, LaCannes Marine, etc. those are the ads that business’s have bought on the sites which help to pay the bills for the site. Those are the only ones I see on there.

EFN doesn’t use pop up ads….. but we receive the occassional e-mail about them being on the site. We’re not running them…. we promise. You’ve picked yourself up a little virus somewhere…. and that’s the true source of the problem.

Most times problems like this are nothing more than annoying and won’t damage your system in any way. But they get REAL annoying when the same ad pops up each time you move to a different page or your start page get reset to a page you’re not real fond of seeing.

He’s right . FTR is not the problem. I was one of the past e-mailers asking about pop up adds and after checking into it further my ISP is working with me to eliminate all the adds. They come from web sites you have visited in the past. They stick to your computer and when you get online something triggers them to pop up .. So check with your Internet Service Provider (ISP)

    Good Luck !!

theres some site called “gator” that has attached themselves to my PC… and they pop up all the time.. very annoying.. somehow they check what your looking at and then pop up something to sell you similar to what your viewing…

One of my older boys was paging through the porns sites one night with his buddies (Really! If it was me, I would not be stupid enough to open anything!!!!) and he signed on to a site in the Netherlands. (The long distance bill was $143 that his Mom got stuck paying!!!) but I have gotten stuck with smut emails, and spam adds promising me free viagra, and larger this and smaller that, yada yada yada!!!!! I am going to have to change my home email address. It is that bad!
