oh.. oh… another one catches river fever!!.. sadly there is no cure for this debilitating disease… thats right.. its terminal.. I know of no one who has survived it….!! the victim is doomed to live a life of longing to be on the river…. frequently experiencing fevers, trembling, blurring of vision, loss of sleep, reduced appetite…. with the only cure being time on the water….. tragically even time on the water helps less and less and soon you need more and more to keep your sanity… *sigh*… oh well… guess you will just have to suffer along with the rest of us infected anglers…..

No…nothing wrong at all. The walleye action has been a bit stale the last couple years. And some of the fellas from up on pool 4 like to me tease me about it from time to time!. Their just spoiled because fishing up their is generally REAL GOOD! I dont mind though because overall we have dynamite fishing here and it sure is a beautiful pool isnt it!!

Tightline…for sure pool 4 is THEE place to be for walleye fishing on the Mississippi River. Do your self a favor and do some fishing up their real soon! The fall bite up at Red Wing is pretty special.

Can’t help but love the River and this last week was great. My son, his friend and I just fnished 4 days on Pool 5 and it was great.Walleyes (including one at 9lbs +), Sauger, Smallies, Northern, Channel Cat, a nice Mudcat, lots of Silver Bass and of course Sheepshead. We are definately multi-species fisherman. which provides us catch and release folks with plenty of action.

The Big Walleye was caught on a blue/grey fat rap casting in a slough. Almost all our walleyes were caught in the sloughs running off the main channel; only a few legal on the wingdams. Perhaps a bit different then Pool 4 but the people I talked to fishing the wingdams were not having much luck.

Hey Tightline I’m from Big Red country also. If you want to fish Pool 4 sometime send me a private. We can talk football and get some serious fishing done at the same time.

Dont let these guys brag up pool 4 to much, try pool 9. I lived there the fishing as a whole was great I feel it is better than pool 4.
