Those of you who like hot topwater action for Bass and Pike, have to try the back water areas at both Merrick and Perrot State Parks. Get into about 3ft of weed filled water and run frogs and buzz baits over the top, and you will have action all day. I pulled out 3 40+inch 19 – 22 pound Pike out last year as well the normal 20 – 30inchers. And the large mouth are just as active. Give it a try! you wont be disappointed. But! Make sure you keep that prop out of the water when your back there, the lower unit fills up quick with silt and it damages your water pump.
