Trying to decide if I should go to Mille Lacs or Pool 4 next weekend, saw James at Everetts today and he said fishing is great but the articles I have been reading also say MilleLacs is good. Decisions decisions! I have been on Pool 4 a couple of times in the last week and have done good the short time out.

    Thanks Kirt

I was with Tuck and Bobber and Hook this wekend up on Mille Lacs, If I had to make a choice go to Mille Lacs.I caught a few slot fish with Tuck and a 27″(By myself of corse,no one to take a Pic.) and a few other big fish.Lots and lots of fish there. Can’t give you Tucks secrets though or he’d never invite me along.(He’s prefishing the Whacker Tourney this week.)Keep watching the FTL website Mille Lacs Forum for Info.Maybe he’ll tell you himself.

I would say Mille Lacs. I was up there last weekend and it was awesome fishing. Not to often can you go out and catch 10+ 23-24″ fish all day long. It was a great trip with my partner Nate. It is harder than you think to catch those smaller slots though. If you do go I would buy leeches down here. We paid $26/lb. That I thought was a liitle high. Good Luck

Keep in mind the river is going to be very high this weekend, some of us received 5 or 6 inches over the weekend.

I was at the big lake all weekend(fri.-sun.) My partner and I were prefishing for the WWA tourney on sun. You may not believe me, btu we caught at least 250+ eyes with 3/4 of them commons(20-25″).The fish are everywhere and biting on every thing. Dont bother buying the spendy leeches. We fished the tourney on sun. with panfish leeches which was a toip we got from the locals and caught 50+ eyes allof them 16″ or better with most being “commons”. And by the way we also caught a 28.5 ” to win the tourney with one fish. My partner staightned a gamakatsu hook open on another eye so you can see that they will eat anything when presented properley. We caught all of these fish in 11′ of water south of Rocky reef with 4-5 ‘ rollers blowing in. Back trolled as best as possible working the bait with your arm.

Bill, you are way too modest!

“And by the way we also caught a 28.5 ” to win the tourney with one fish”

    Congrats!

Hey, give us the scoop on the tourney forum. Sounds like you are holding back on a good story!

And to the original post….. My Vote is also Mille Lacs. If you can’t catch fish now on the lake, toss your rod overboard and sell the boat!
