Mississippi River – Genoa – Clements Fishing Barge
It was an up and down fishing weekend, with perfect weather and fickle
fish. A lot of sauger were caught, with several limits going home to
those fishing with minnows, several big catfish were caught, many white
bass and the blue gill fishing was outstanding this weekend. They
turned on with a bang. Don’t forget to throw back all the ones with
eggs right now as they will soon lay them. Many people had their limits
of blue gill! Mainly on garden worms. The sheephead were thick as well
so their was plenty of action. Big reminder, we are having our annual
Free Kids Fishing Day on Sunday, June 9th. Mark it down and bring the
kids fishing. There will be free food, drinks, bait and tackle; there
will be a big fishing contest again, but all kids get prizes and many
Genoa Lions members on hand to help everyone out. It is a great time
and we like to see lots of kids on the river.
