I’ve been talking to Moyer about going down his way maybe again this Spring looking for Blues. He says pool 18 is a good place to find them too. Anybody else get around that area?

Just saw this post today. I dont know 18 too well but I have fished it. I spent 18 years living and fishing on pool 19 though if you are going to make it down that far. And yes there are blues there.
I got confused…I meant Lock and dam 18 which is actually pool 19 right? I would like to visit this area sometime this year… just looking for tips. Thanks Huck! I see your closer to L&D #1 now…you still catfishing?
Been while since I have checked the site, been working down in the carribean for the last three weeks with no access to the internet. Worst part is I didnt geta chance to get any fishing in down there. Yeah below L&D 18 is pool 19. Great catfishery as far as I’m concerned. Usually had great luck in the deep holes just below the damn at all times of the day. Lots of good snags up and down the pool also. Down south of Burlington at the power plant discharge on the Iowa side holds some real hogs also.
Havent had the chance to get much catfishing in at all up here, doesnt help that I dont have a boat at the moment either. Spend most of my time shorefishing up and down pool 2 and north of the cities for wallys and smalls now. My friends up here seem to be catfish snobs which as far as I’m concerned is thier loss. Best fightin fish in fresh water. One of these days I’ll get back at them up here. Hopefully this summer.
