I forgot to mention this in my Pool report. One of the cusomers in my boat yesterday snagged an old beer can. The can had a Zebra mussel firmly attached. This was my first experience with the dreaded Zeeb this side of Pool 4. Anyone else see any????

    Tuck,

Where did you pull the beer can from…. the Croix or the Miss? I’ve fished Pool 3 for several years now and have never seen a zeeb in this pool. I’ll keep my eyes open and let you know if I see any this summer.

I remember the big great lake scare with zebra snails it turn out that millions are cloging intakes on all the great lakes they have ways to correct that now, well any way the snails are making the water as clear as gin. they changed the way they fish on lake eire because the water is so clean and clear do,nt panic the rivers are moving water it would be nice if a local fish bioligist would step in and give us the skinny

All you need to do is walk along the beaches of Lake Pepin to see what these pests are doing. You cannot walk barefoot, you have a hard time trolling structure, etc. It is like trolling or walking through razor blades!

Caught a natural clam on the Croix by the Kinny last weekend. Had a zebra attached. Killed the zeb threw the clam back in. Also came across two lampreys last week. Only able to capture one.

Last year I pulled up a rock in 25` (I snagged w/ a crank) north of the Kinni and the rock has several zebras on it..

I’ve seen quite a few of these pesky little Zeebs down on pool 5A over the past few years. Seems like more and more every time I bring up a snag, there some hanging on. Also caught a sheephead with a lamprey attached just last night, first one of those I’ve seen on the river in 12 years of fishing.
