    All,

I was lucky enough to land a hawg walleye on Saturday morning that measured 33″.

I took about a roll of pictures and let her go.

Man, what a fish! I was in shock for about 24 hours.

My largest walleye prior to that was 26″ maybe 27″.

This was a very fat & healthy river fish – what do you thing that gal weighed?

    Brian

P.S. I’ll post a photo a.s.a.p. (My wife did not go to 1 hour photo!)

I would guess 12-13lbs. I know other people have better estimations methods that are more accurate but usually require math-but I use 25″ walleye is about 5lbs. Each 1″ after that adds 1 lb. So 5+8 equals 13lbs. This runs a little high-so 12-13lbs.

What was the girth measurement? Can’t wait to see the pictures. According to one formula I have for walleyes (length x length x length divided by 2700), your fish would weigh 13.31 lbs.

Here is a link to a chart of other calculations done with the same formula:

    http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/water/fhp/fish/faq/trophy.htm

You can either use the formulas yourself or click on the converter table and print out a multi-species list of calculated weights.

    Very impressive Brian!

    Way to go.

Can I ask what section of river this monster came out of?

    Congrats.

Wow! I can’t wait to see the pictures, I’d also like to say thanks for putting her back. It’s nice to know there are still hogs like that swimming around.
