I’m looking to get away from the crowds on the MN opener. I don’t want to go to far because I am taking my Dad who is older and is not up to a trip up north. I’m debating about Mtka and Pool 3/St Croix. I know what to expect on Mtka on the opener as far as crowds, but wondering what pool 3 is like on that day.
The only place on Pool 3 that will have a lot of fishing pressure during the Minnesota opener will be in the No Wake Zone at Prescott, but even that won’t be too bad. This past weekend (i.e. the Wisconsin Opener) always seems to be the busiest weekend of the year at Prescott. If it’s nice, there will be a lot of pleasure craft on the water.
