Adam left me a phone message stating the same. Access to the ramp should remain open. I’m assuming that the gates will NOT be closed and the ramp should be available.

I’m planning to put in there Saturday AM. See ya on the water.

I hope that Adam’s phone message is more accurate than the signs I saw this morning. The first sign said the road will be closed on 12/10. The second sign said open from 7:30 to 4:30 Monday thru Friday.
I drove to the ramp for a view. The ramp itself, being the washboard style, is clean. There is some ice and snow on the road leading to the ramp. Bring 4 wd or salt and sand if you are going to launch.
There was one trailer in the parking lot.

I know that there were a couple posts about the 494 launch on the Mississippt River page and I know Jon J. and Steve D. were planning on launching there tomorrow. WELL!!! I just got off the phone with Mike W. and he had just talked to the MNDOT guys on the site. Here is what he had to say: The launch will be closed this weekend because they are tearing out the RR tracks in the morning. It may be closed indefinately for what ever reasons…..I would guess there needs to be some phone calls made to find out what’s up

That is the skinny I recieved right from the guy at the gate there about 12 today. From what I have heard he is the one with the key.
There are new road closed signs up and the 7:30 to 3:30 monday thru friday signs are still up.
    This does not look good.
The one thing that does seem to be true is that on any given day you may or may not be able to get into the landing.

    Thanks for the update guys.
I have been still paunching at the St. Paul Park ramp and the ramp is in perfect condition. The ramp itself has a slight cut off the main channel to keep the ramp are ice away for at least a few cold nights that reach the low 20’s. Anything colder than that for any period of time will button that ramp up. With the forecast this week, the ramp should still be open I will be launching there without a doubt. Beyond this week is going to be a day by day prediction…eventually she will freeze up with some colder weather. My next stop will be Lilydale!
