I made a bad mistake when I put my boat away for the winter last year. I left 4 spools of line, both mono and super line, in the boat and they sat there all winter. They have really bad memory rigt now and don’t seem to want to let it go. Is there anyway to get rid of the memory so I can still use it this summer or is all lost?? Thanks in advance for any help.

Try to soak the line in hot water for 1 to 2 minutes.

I am not sure about old line , but twisted line I may be able help you. Have you ever had line that seems to be all twisted and keeps wrapping around the end of your pole, especially after a couple days of jigging. One trick I have learned to get rid of the twisting is, take your jig or lure off, flip your bail, start your engine, and let all the line out right down to the spool. After that run down the river with all you line out, this will all the twisting to become untwisted. It saves alot rather than throwing your line away. I hope this helps.

Good trick fireflick. Thanks for that tip. That happens to me all the time and I spend a lot re-spooling my reels.

Good tip, but make sure you cut the last few fee off first… If you drag a nicked up line, it may twist even more.

    Thanks,
