    Will all outboards made eventually be four strokes and the two strokes be phased out?

    From what I have heard, by 2006 they will not be able to manufacture any more 2-stroke motors. I have not seen this in print personally, just from word of wouth. However, I have heard this from several “reliable” people.

    there is definately a lot of talk and rumors leading that way towards it

    Don’t count the 2-strokes out yet. The Bombardier-Evinrude Fitch surpasses the 2006 EPA mandates. I’m sure this company wouldn’t be investing so much dough into research if they had to stop production in 4 more years.
