    Hi All,
Anyone get out on Pools 3 and/or 4 this last weekend.
A friend of mine’s dad is in town from Oklahoma and had heard about the great fall fishing at Red Wing. Is the jig bite going below the dam on 4?? I also heard a couple weeks ago that the fish were going on pool 3 as well but that is pretty old info. I offered to take them out this coming weekend so any info would be great.
    Thanks
    John

As far as pool 3 goes, I had heard of a fair wing dam bite going on upper 3 towards Prescott. I have been breaking the boat in up towards the Kinny where fishing has been slow. I’m not seeing the shiner run as we have seen in the past, but large shad are all over. I have heard of a good bite on the Vermillion towards Blackbird trolling Shad Raps. Jigging is usually good by the trestle this time of year, and should continue through winter. If you get blown off the river, this would be a good place to go.

Oh Chappy – I’m sure John’s looking for some useful information….. like from a real fisherman or something.

I’m just looking out for you, my friend.

I had a very productive outing on pool 4 sunday and monday.A range of size of small saugers to nice 22-23 inch eyes mixed in as well.A variety of presentations were successful with the biggest fish coming on plastics in the depths of 8 ft and shallower on purple K-grubs,the plastic bite seems to only get better. There were also alot of live bait action as well but didnt seem to produce the same quality of fish as the other presentations.Good fishin to ya!
