I really have no opinion of the bass boats that fly by in the backwaters. I know when they have to run all out, and I also know when they have seen me and have had plenty of time to slow down. Some guys do slow down when they can, some guys don’t. I don’t flip the bird or yell, it’s not going to change anything. I don’t have a fast walleye boat (75 hp tiller) and I myself have rounded a corner only to find a pan fisher right there. I shut her down and say I’m sorry right away. What scares me is fishing a corner, or drifting a section just above or below a corner, and hearing the fast boat coming and knowing I can’t do anything in time. I have to rely soley on him seeing me, and avoiding me. That doesn’t make me feel very safe. All you guys can say what you want good/bad about this subject. All I can say is that there are alot of boats out there that go fast, and they ain’t all Bass Boats, and when you are running the backwaters at those speeds accidents can happen and you better be prepared to suffer the consequesces if you hit someone. I can live with slowing down on certain corners and finding out when I get around them that I slowed down for nothing. I couldn’t live with myself if I killed someone by trying to get to my hole in a hurry.
