Went down by your brothers house (Lake Isabel) looking around, and the water is really up high! Well into the trees! I bet if we could get a few more of those 80 deg. days, you could get some action!!! Does not look as if that is going to happen any time soon though..

Water down here was 57 Degrees just the other day.

I might try it for awhile tonight.

What temp do the crappies get active at? I don’t remember.

Do you know where the blackbird tressel is? In the area usually referred to as Duchane’s. Caught a few crappies there recently. Who knows what’s going to happen, though, if this predicted forecast of snow proves to be true.

There is a rumor of a 4.5 pound crappie that came out of the Vermillion recently. Has anybody heard this too???

I heard the same rumor, but I heard it came out of a backwater near Red Wing. I thought the guy told me near the Cannon River, but I’m not sure. Supposedly it was a white crappie and I think it would be a new state record, so if we don’t hear about it soon, they may have exaggerated a bit. Let me know if you hear anything else.

It would be a State record in either State if it was a white crappie. I am chalking it up to river chatter until I see pictures..

Hook, nice picture! Where are the others? I’m still drying everything out!

I posted on 4/8 about a 3lb.+ crappie caught on the MIssissippi by Red Wing but didn’t get any responses. There is a picture at 4 seasons in Red Wing. Is this the same fish? Is blackbird up or down stream from Dushane’s?

Down stream about 1/2 mile. It is considered boundary waters until you get to the bridge.

down stream.Generally the area referred to as Blackbird is downstream from the train tressel.

Once apon a time you could access the area by road, off of Blackbird Trail but a twin cityite bought up the area and closed the road. There was a big tado about it 15 years ago or so.

The water is dropping fast. The landing down there might be open soon, if ist’s not open already.

    Good luck
