When do carp spawn in Pool 2?

    When do the carp start spawning on the mississippi? Has anyone see them spawning yet? Where are good places to go for bowfishing?

    a friend of mine would alway bowhunt carp right by the blackhawk power plant in Burnsville. It is actually a backwater of the MN river-but still close to Pool 2.

    There were buffalo working in pool #6 on Tuesday. Just a reminder: Minnesota’s season doesn’t open till May 4th. We usually miss the good buffalo shooting.

    Inland waters open May 1st for spearing and shooting. MN/WI boundaries are May 4th.

    Carp will start to spawn as the water continues to warm. They are vegitation spawners so look in flooded backwaters this time of year. Have fun!

    If anyone knows a place where there is a decent possibility of catching a buffalo I would really like to know (you can send me a private). I have been trying to catch one but they are scarce and fairly elusive in the places I fish.
