Hit Pool 3 Saturday 8/28 7 am-1pm. Not really familiar with the area below Prescott, my main mission was exloring. Fished some wingies, found 2 nice smallies on first wingdam, 12 feet of water, then nothing for the rest of the day. I was trying to find the way into the backwaters, and went thru what looks like Brewer’s Lake on the map. Fished that area and went north (I believe North lake) and south(toward the casino marina) and found mainly real shallow water. I have several questions about that area:
    1. Is this area any good at any time of the year?
    2. I was able to find some maps on the Army Corps of Eng website(no depth), but have yet to find any good depth maps. Anyone know where to find a good pool 3 map?
    3. Does North Lake have any good spots as you head North?
(panfish or walleye)What about Sturgeon, or any of the other backwater areas.
    4. At what point (if any) does the Hastings dam (L&D 2) start putting out any fish?
I know people fish these areas, but I have not had much success on pool 3. It is 45 minutes closer to my house than pool 4, so I am trying to learn it.
    Thanks in advance!

I’ll try to help you out. Brewers cut is generally a good spot to start. Right after you come off the river into the cut,on your left is some fast moving water. Drag crawlwers or minnows on jigs through it.
When you go through brewers lake and go through the openning to buffalo slough .Anyway… Trolling this area all summer can produce fish. I would say you don’t want to go any farthr north than what the point that sticks out on the south side,50 yards up from where you get into the slough.North lake,My experiance say’s no….Lot’s of stumps and shallow water if you get to far north of Buffalo. other than in the winter it’s pretty good for Crappies.Keep searching,Miley’s can be good too. Sturgon…don’t know, L&D at Hastings can be good in the fall.Hope it helps
