Starting to hate hidden falls….

Been running around hidden falls. Starting to really hate it. That river is starting to cost me a fortune and apparently I don’t know what the hell I am doing! Tried cranks, jigs/plastics/crawlers/minnows, blade baits… Pretty much everything I can think of outside of chucking a live bait rig and a slip bobber. Thinking the bobber might be a good option lol. Finding some nice slack water and some swirling eddies but just can’t coax anything into biting besides rocks and logs. Hmm…..

If I were you I’d just try to find a different area to fish. I think we might be in the post spawn time and the fish are now scattered in the system. With the high flow and water I’d be looking for some backwater areas. Are you shore fishing?

I’ve been having very good action daily with walleyes and a few whitebass and crappies mixed in, jig and minnow, plastics and crankbaits have all been producing fish. All the fish have been caught from shore within eyesight of hidden falls landing. You just need to try new areas till you find actively feeding fish.
    Good luck and tight lines!!

Thanks guys! I am indeed shore fishing. That being said I love the appeal of figuring out pool 2 as it’s close and I have a chance on hooking in to a nice array of species. I will keep at it try and cover more ground and find some new spots. As far as hidden falls boat launch area I have pretty much worked that entre shoreline over fan casting at different times of day as well as night with no takers. Might try and head down to south St. Paul or grey cloud island.

Don’t count out the live bait rig. Egg sinker, swivel and leader with a big fat minnow will get you anything that swims. Makes for some good lazy fishing too when you just want to setup a lawn chair and chillax. All the old timers I meet up that’s all they use, small splitshot and a #6 hook with fathead and they do quite well.

Thanks Nhamm… I might just give it a try. I have all the weights and everything I need for it. Mostly just to lazy to tie it up .
