From Lock and Dam #3 Friday

A fishing boat just drove downbound through the dam.

Anglers should beware that this is very dangerous and illegal.

If he comes to the resort please pass him the word. Thanks!

Unreal, what would make a person want to even attempt that? Very dangerous.

That would have been cool to see, what a thrill. Somebody was telling me years ago they pulled that stunt on the CR dam. Don’t get me wrong its incredibly stupid, but heck its their life do what they want.

Shooting the rollers is not unheard of. If the water is high enough and you’re going fast enough rumor has it you can skip locking up too.

Might have heard of that being done on pool 9 L&D a few times.

Might be a little hard to go back up stream and a long walk to trailer.

The rollers down stream are much different then at #3. There’s only 4 gates and many times logs get jammed just under the water line above the dam.

Shoot the rollers here and if anything goes wrong, the fishermen below the dam will be pulling you out of the water possible with their jigs.

    Don’t ruin their day.

Those walleye guys will still claim they “caught” it.

I was a passenger in a boat that did that. The warden was not very amused.

nevermind the rescue personel that have to try and find a body in high water and the potential risk of them or others getting hurt. some people are just dumb!

Wow. I have not heard of anybody doing that in years. Gotta have a boat with four wheel drive to make that run.

    I wasn’t advocating it.

I was a passenger in a boat that did it when I was in my teens, long before video on your phone.
